Why SunnyMac

The company that has to come back

We install solar, roofing and HVAC across the same four states, and our installation and service teams for those three are SunnyMac employees. That matters mostly because it means we are the ones who answer the phone in year seven of owning your system.

Our solar and roofing installation and service teams are SunnyMac employees across Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and our heating and cooling teams across Delaware, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. That allows the teams to coordinate when a project involves more than one part of the home.

Why does this site show a smaller number than you have seen before?

Because it counts something narrower, over a shorter period, and we can show our working for it. Our older marketing quoted more than 14,000 installations, reaching back toward our 2009 founding. We are not repeating that figure here, because our project records only reach back since April 2024, and we cannot check anything earlier against the system we actually run the business in.

The two are also not the same unit, which is most of the gap:

  • An installation is a job. One home can have several — a roof, a solar system and a heat pump are three.
  • A home is an address, counted once no matter how much work it has had.
  • Powered means the utility has granted permission to operate, which is weeks after the panels went on the roof.

So the 4689 figure above is distinct addresses with a switched-on solar system, across all four states, since our records begin. It is smaller than a lifetime job count by design. We would rather publish the number we can stand behind than the larger one we cannot.
